Share and Discover Conference Content with Xavy

We have been recently introduced to new video platform, Xavy, launched in November 2013 and designed for professionals to share and discover videos from conferences and events.

Co-founders Henry Embleton and Mark Walker noticed that conference footage, which can be rich in information and insights, can become lost on general video sharing platforms like YouTube. Furthermore professionals may be hesitant or unaware to search on such platforms for meaty, industry-specific content.

If you’re looking for information, Xavy, whose tagline is ‘expert talks on demand’ aims to provide a safe-for-work platform that dishes up quality conference material, searchable by industry, theme, event and speaker.

If you’re an event organiser, it’s a place to share your event videos in a space where viewers are specifically searching for conference material. You can release your content for free or through their paywall functionallity, Xavy gives you the option of selling your content. Handy, if you’re looking to create an extra revenue stream or target the people that did not attend your conference. Xavy also allows you to sell tickets to your next event alongside your videos. Take a look at their introduction clip:

We are big advocates of recording your conference or event. If you’re investing the time, effort and money into putting on an event, it makes sense to spread the net wide and maximise your audience through sharing your content online. Rather than the event coming and going in the blink of an eye, conference videos are long term assets that continue to share your message with new viewers. If you approach it this way, video production is not another expense, it’s a smart investment.

Whether you’re looking to research into a specific business topic, soak up some valuable insights from a recent conference or share your own conference footage, Xavy is a great new option worth exploring and testing out for yourself!

Help Fund Heartwarming Short Film, ‘Heritage’!

At Really Bright Media we love working on a variety of film projects including corporate videos, online adverts, business pitch films – and for fun, fictional short films!

One such project that has been in the pipeline for some time is a heartwarming short film based on real life events about the relationship between a grandfather and granddaughter. A stubborn old man is given a second chance to help his ambitious granddaughter he didn’t know existed. If only he can overcome his pride and a lifetime of irritating habits.

‘Heritage’ is a 15-minute character-drama about family love and second chances. Taking an honest and humorous look into cross-generational family dynamics, this film is sure to leave you feeling touched and uplifted.

To make ‘Heritage’ a reality, we need a bit of support! So please explore the crowd funding campaign and if you’d like to, donate to help fund this film. There’s just a few days left. All donations – large or small – are greatly appreciated and go a long way!

The team is also seeking an executive producer or major sponsor. If thats’s you, or you know someone suitable, please get in touch via hello@togetherpictures.com

We’ll keep you posted on the progress of ‘Heritage’.

Sell Your Training Course Online

The internet has allowed information to be shared in a way that wasn’t possible 10 years ago. Today one can learn all they need to know about any topic or skill online – and even gain credible qualifications from the comfort of their own home with a laptop!

Here at Really Bright Media we have been impressed by an online learning platform, ‘Udemy.com’. Over the past few weeks we have been working on an exciting project for a client, using the Udemy site to launch their first online training course.

Udemy is an online platform that allows instructors to build online courses on topics of their choosing. They can upload video, PowerPoint presentations, PDF’s, audios, zip files and live classes to create the lectures which will make up their curriculum. As the instructor, you have the power to select how much you want to charge for your course, and you can also make it free if you wish. In general, course prices range between $30 – $150.

Some of the most popular courses on Udemy include a ‘Photoshop CS6 Crash Course’ (3,700 students currently signed up to this $40 course!), a ‘Young Adult Fiction Writing Workshop’ (priced at $199 and currently with 416 students) and ‘Sleep Hacking: Have More Energy, Spend Less Time in Bed’ (priced at $49 with 1,300 students).

Do you have a training course that you could productise? Are there elements of your business which could be broken down into sections and shared as online lectures? Thanks to platforms like Udemy it is now affordable to disseminate your expertise to a global audience who can pay to take your course and gain the knowledge that you have to share.

If you have an inkling that this is something you would be interested in looking into for your business, please speak to us about the possibility of helping you script, film, edit, produce and set up your very own online learning course!

KPI Events Shared Globally

Video is a remarkable tool. It captures a moment in time and allows you to share it repeatedly with new people. By using social media, you can share your videos not only with your personal network, but with a global audience.

When going to the effort and expense of putting on a live event, we recommend that you capture that event on video so that you may expand your potential viewership.

Entrevo holds regular live events for entrepreneurs with presentations by world class speakers, as part of their Become a Key Person of Influence programme. RBM captures these events on video and creates content for their YouTube channel including event highlights, testimonials and case studies, interviews, promos and more.

Take a look at two recent Entrevo events that have been captured on video and leveraged powerfully through social media profiles such as Twitter and Facebook.

Once you capture an event, you can re-purpose the footage to create DVDs, online tutorials and shareable content for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, your Blog and more. However, you will miss out on these opportunities if you neglect to record your events… so get out there and get filming!!
